CONSTRUCTION 

The sleeves are worked first, followed by the bottom ribbing of the body piece. The front and back pieces are worked in separate parts on top of the ribbing. Lastly, the neck ribbing is worked, and the parts are sewn together using mattress sts.

  • Sizing: (1) 2 (3) 4 years
  • Half chest measurement approx.:(30) 32.5 (32.5) 35 cm | (113/4”) 123/4” (123/4”) 133/4”.
  • Length approx.: 31 (34) 37 (40) cm | (121/4 in) 13 3/8 i” (145/8”) 153/4”.
  • Sleeve length: (21) 23 (26) 29 cm |(8”) 9” (10”) 11”.
  • Yarn: (100) 150 (150) 200 g Fineste Uld (100% wool) from Strikkesalonen (285 m pr. 50 g) or an equivalent lace weight yarn.

For a striped version:

Color A (100) 100 (150*) 150 g.

Color B (50) 50 (50) 50 g.

*100 g will suffice for most, but I have added an extra ball of yarn just in case..

 

  • Crochet hooks:

3.00 mm (US size C/2 or D/3, UK/Canada size 11) and

4.00 mm (US size G/6, UK/Canada size 8)

or the hook sizes required to obtain the gauges listed below.

  • Gauge:

Ribbing worked with hook size 3.00 mm: 30 sts x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm (2.5” x 2.5”)

Moss stitch worked with hook size 4.00 mm: 23 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm (2.5” x 2.5”)

Pattern worked with hook size 6.00 mm: 16 sts x 8 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (2.5” x 2.5”)
